About James L. Wayman

Jim Wayman became the first President of the Korea Inter-Parliamentary Exchange Center in June 2025.

He comes to us after a 34-year career as a Foreign Service Officer at the U.S. Department of State, where he worked extensively on East Asian issues, serving two tours at the American Embassy in Seoul, including as Minister-Counselor for Political Affairs.

A native of Indiana, Jim received a BS from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and a JD from Indiana University.

He and his wife, Suzanne, have two adult sons.
