In this issue, we provide an overview of the current status of the U.S. federal government shutdown and share insights from a roundtable discussion with Allen Orr, Founder of Orr Immigration Law Firm P.C. and former President of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), on the theme “Immigration Enforcement and Visa Reform under Trump: Lessons for Korea.”

In addition, the KIPEC Policy Conference held on October 24 explored policy perspectives on foreign investment and visa challenges in the United States, and the key takeaways from the discussion are included in this report.

Lastly, we present a summary of the CSIS report, “South Korea’s Response to U.S. Demands: Minimize Risk, Maximize Reward.”
