This KIPEC Brief introduces the results of the U.S. Presidential and Congressional elections held on November 5, 2024, and highlights the Korean-American members elected to the U.S. Congress, including Andy Kim, Young Kim, Marilyn Strickland, and Dave Min. In the Presidential election, Republican candidate Donald Trump was elected as President, achieving a voter turnout of 66.3%, the second highest since the 1960s.
Additionally, the Congressional Research Service (CRS) report summarizes and analyzes the U.S.- Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) and the trade relations between the two countries. It also explains the current status of ROK-US trade, key industries, and changes in the trade agreement since the Trump administration.
