This KIPEC Seminar Report is based on a presentation delivered by Tom Ramage of the Korea Economic Institute of America (KEI) at 10:00 a.m. on July 16, 2026.
The report examines the recent restructuring of U.S. trade policy around economic security and industrial competitiveness, as well as the implications of evolving tariff policies for the U.S.-ROK economic relationship. It also analyzes the outcomes of the U.S.-ROK tariff negotiations, developments related to Section 301 of the Trade Act and Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act, changes in bilateral trade and investment, and the future direction of U.S. trade policy and its implications for Korea.
